OUR history

Young Carmen M. Pariso with his Family

In 1936, Carmen and Angelo Pariso decided to go into business after working for their father. Together, they founded the trucking company, "Pariso Brothers."

Their father asked if they were ashamed of their heritage because their name was not on the trucks. Going forward, every truck has "Pariso" on the side, which continues to this day.

In 1942, Carmen and Angelo joined the Armed Services during World War II. Carmen joined the the 90th Infantry, and Angelo joined the Railroad Battalion. When the war ended in 1945, starting over proved to be extremely difficult. All of their customers were now with competitors who hadn’t enlisted in the war. Their property had been rezoned. With no garage and only one truck, they survived by picking up odd jobs throughout the area.

In March 1954, the D. J. Mead Paper Warehouse partially burned down in Buffalo, New York. The Pariso brothers were hired to clear the debris from the demolition job, which was quite extensive.

Later, they were hired for the widening and resurfacing of a 40-mile section of Route 5 from Silver Creek to the Pennsylvania border. They finished the resurfacing ahead of schedule by one year’s time.

After Angelo’s retirement in 1970, Carmen formed Carmen M. Pariso Inc. with his wife Beverly. Their first major contract was with the Niagara Mohawk Power Plant on River Road in Tonawanda, NY.  Because of this relationship, they purchased an unused junkyard adjacent to the plant. On this property, they built a garage that has been expanded upon and used to this day.
